Working on Potty Training the Puppy
Upon hearing the word puppy, people’s heart would begin to race. Other people get excited because puppies are cute and the others are thinking about the work that they have to do. While the other set of people are a lot more worried regarding how long it takes to actually potty train a puppy and the first only wants to snuggle, there is nobody who would like to see a puppy peeing in the house. How long would it take you to potty train your puppy? What you must understand is that such doesn’t take time but it requires patience. These are among the things that you should follow.
When you are going to have a new puppy, you must keep in mind that potty training is the first big step that you must do. This is actually where you are going to learn the boundaries and how you must trust each other. It is actually a sad fact that when potty training fails, the dogs are put in shelters or rehomed.
You surely love such new family member but you must keep in mind that training a puppy can be a challenging experience. It is an important thing that you are patient and the older the puppy or the dog is, one will be able to learn much faster. There are those who are going to learn much faster as compared to the others but when you are consistent, then each dog would be able to learn a new trick.
An important thing that you need to teach the pup where to use the bathroom is that you need to teach them where they have to go and when to hold this. If you are able to watch the puppy closely, you will be able to tell when they are preparing to go and take them outside.
Offering them that safe and comfortable place when you cannot keep an eye on them is surely a huge factor in potty-training them successfully. There are many of those who are not interested with the idea of crate training but if such is done in the right manner, this can give the puppy that safe and comfortable place to be when you are not able to keep an eye on her or him.
If you can’t go for that crate idea, then you may have a small room or a playpen for your puppy. If you would choose an area, you wish to make sure that this is really big enough for the puppy to feel comfortable but this must not be big enough for the pup or pee at the corner.
You should get a routine which is an excellent idea for potty training the puppy. The routine must also include feeding times and the time to go out and play aside from the potty breaks.
